This is a presentation about a research and oral history radio and web project. Topic is the work-related migration since the 60's from southeast to western europe and the effects nowadays.

This year in summer 2008 the research was started in the town Pozarevac and the surrounding villages in East-Serbia (Ex-Yugoslavia). In this period of year, the so called "Gastarbajteri" and their families come back "home" for holidays, mainly from South-Germany, Austria or Italy. The idea was, to find out more about this phenomen, with the focus on the current situation in Serbia, the place of the guest workers origin. How the migration and the money transfer from the west was changend this area, how it's the situation for the second or third generation or how people living here or there? After the collection of many answers to that questions, we invited people on street to participate in an open microphone-micro-radio broadcast. After the presentation I would like to discuss with you, how and where to continue and spread this kind of project (in a mixture between research and intervention) and how to dealing with the phenomen of work-related migration, specially in alternative media.
