10:00 - Internet Radio in Poland as an Example of Community Broadcasting (Urszula Doliwa)

In Poland internet radios are becoming a significant part of the radio system. The number of internet radio audience is counted in millions. What is more, there are a lot of internet radio initiatives in very diverse communities. Internet radio is created by secondary school students, students, cultural associations, Catholic Church and representatives of other religions. What is the ground of such a big interest in creating internet radio? One of the most important reasons is the fact that current media system does not offer real support for small, community-orientated radio stations, what practically makes their activity on air impossible.
